Objective: Add and subtract decimals.

Activate Prior Knowledge:
Add or Subtract.
  1. 2526 +460 =
  2. 4389 - 238 =
  3. 43026 + 3507 =
  4. 7506 - 3308 =

New Knowledge:

To add or subtract decimals align the decimal point first, then place each number according to place value; use zeros as place holders when needed.

Add or subtract make sure to include the decimal point in the answer.

Decimal point goes under decimal point.

Examples:

  • 3.45 + 7 + 0.825 =
  • 51.4 - 65.25 =
