Goal: Identify similar and congruent figures.

Comparing figures

Two figures are congruent if they have the same size and shape. Two figures are similar if they have the same shape but not necessarily the same size.

Corresponding parts

When two figures are similar, their corresponding angles have the same measure. When two figures are congruent, their corresponding parts have the same measure.
Corresponding parts are the matching sides and angles of two figures.
